Part B: Grammar Explanation

بیان منظور و هدف

به روش های زیر می توان منظور و هدف خود را از انجام کار بیان کرد:

☺ 1. …… to + فعل ساده

☺ 2. …… in order to + فعل ساده

☺ 3. …… so as to
+ فعل ساده

☺ 4. …… so that
+ جمله کامل (فاعل + فعل …… )

☺ 5. …… in order
that + جمله کامل (فاعل + فعل …… )

1. I went to Londontocontinue
my studies.

2. I went to Londonin order tocontinue
my studies.

3. I went to Londonso as tocontinue
my studies.

4. I went to Londonso thatI
could continue my studies.

5. I went to Londonin order thatI
could continue my studies.

به مثال های دیگری در این مورد توجه نمایید:

1. He stopped for a few minutesto
rest.

2. I got up
earlyin order tohaveenough time to get ready.

3. She gave up workso as tohave
more time with the children.

4. He wrote the advertisement in several
languagesso thatforeign tourists could understand it.

5. He came in quietlyin order that
he wouldn’t disturb the sleeping children.

نکته 1: برای بیان منظور و هدف به صورت منفی از to استفاده نمی شود.

1. He left his gun outsidein order not to
frightenus.

2. He went
early in the morningso as not toget stuckin the
traffic.

نکته 2: در مورد so that
و in order that بین دو جمله ی
قبل و بعد از آنها مطابقت زمانی وجود دارد.

1. Ihavegiven him a keyso
thathecanget into the house whenever he likes.

2. These menrisk
their lives in order that wecanlive more safely.

3. Itookmy books so that Icould
study at the weekend.

نکته 3: می توان از to
و in order to در ابتدای جمله
استفاده کرد؛ در این صورت بعد از عبارت بیان منظور و هدف کاما(,) لازم است.

1. Togetsome
stamps, I went to the post office.

2. In
order toget upearly, I set the alarm clock.

نکته 4: در بعضی از جملات می توان از for برای بیان مظور استفاده کرد. (عبارت اسمی + for )

He went to the libraryfora
book. = (he went to the librarytoborrowa
book.)

نکته 5: در بعضی از جملات می توان از because برای بیان مظور استفاده کرد. ( جمله کامل + because ……)

He went to the librarybecausehe
wanted to borrow a book
